The Fairmount Group Hires Tiffany Massing as Project Coordinator
New team member brings unique perspective and talent

   April 5, 2011

The Fairmount Group, a communications and marketing firm, recently added Tiffany Massing to its Cleveland Heights-based staff.  In the role of project coordinator, Massing supports website development, market research, media relations and marketing campaigns for a variety of small business and nonprofit clients.

Massing works closely with Dawn Hanson, president of The Fairmount Group.  “Her background in art and design – and her experience as a small business owner – make her an ideal match for our team,” Hanson said. “She brings a fresh perspective, excellent organizational skills and a lot of talent.”

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Massing spent 12 years in London, England.  A talented furniture designer and crafter, she was a co-founder of New Leaf Furniture Makers, a woman-owned, high-end custom furniture company based in London.  The company received numerous awards and accolades, and was popular with British newspapers and home magazines.  Massing returned to the U.S. in 2008 to be closer to family.

Massing earned a Master of Fine Arts at the Slade School of Art in London and a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.

In addition to her work at The Fairmount Group, Massing is lending her talents to the local community. She is an active volunteer in Cleveland’s efforts to promote the District of Design and its second annual Furniture Fair, which will take place in May.  Her home and garden were on the 2010 Heights Heritage Home, a benefit for the Heights Community Congress.

Dawn Hanson's Advice Featured in 2011 Woman's Advantage Calendar

October 20, 2010

Cleveland - A quote by Dawn Hanson, founder and president of The Fairmount Group, was selected from over 5,000 submissions nationally to be featured in The 2011 Woman’s Advantage Shared Wisdom Calendar. The page-a-day calendar provides advice for women business owners from influential women leaders across the U.S. and Canada.

Growth expert Mary Cantando of The Woman’s Advantage said that Hanson’s quote, “Think big and plan for abundance!” was selected because it was powerful yet easy to understand. “Her idea is relevant to almost every woman in business today.” says Cantando. “Women business owners and those who dream of starting a business will learn so much from the advice provided by Dawn and the other successful women quoted in the calendar.”

Hanson says the original quote is something of a personal mantra for her own business, a marketing and communications firm based in Cleveland Heights. “About a year ago, I put up a sign in my office with this quote to serve as kind of a daily affirmation.” She said she plans to replace the handwritten sign with a framed copy of the quote which appears on the December 30 page of the 2011 calendar.

The Fairmount Group Lands New Client:
Finland-Based Online Art Retailer Plans to Expand Internationally

July 12, 2010

The Fairmount Group, a communications and marketing firm based in Cleveland Heights, has been selected as the agency of record by Art to My Home, a growing online art retailer based in Helsinki, Finland.  Dawn Hanson, president of The Fairmount Group, announced the deal today.  “We are thrilled to support Art to My Home in launching their business in Finland and beyond – and we are happy to bring more international business home to Northeast Ohio,” she said.

Hanson met with the owners of the emerging art company during her first business development jaunt to Finland thanks to a British Airways’ Business Opportunity Grant, which The Fairmount Group was awarded in April.  Art to My Home is an online marketplace for original artwork.  It will formally launch in Finland in August and will expand to other markets across Europe beginning this autumn.  “Their goal is the democratization of art,” explained Hanson. “Art to My Home has created a unique way for artists to connect with buyers and participate in a supportive community of artists across Europe. I wholeheartedly agree with the Art to My Home philosophy that everyone should have access to original, affordable artwork.”

Hanson, who established The Fairmount Group in 2006, made the trip to Finland last month using one of 10 roundtrip Club World business class flights awarded to the firm by British Airways.  The airline’s Business Opportunity Grants program is part of a campaign to foster international business growth through face to face meetings.  In addition to a year’s worth of international air travel, the award includes
five free global shipments with British Airways World Cargo, $1,000 toward hotel accommodations at Courtyard by Marriott, five Regus Businessworld Gold Cards offering access to its business lounges worldwide, a Canon MX860 printer, and three face-to-face business introductions through ExeConnect.  The Fairmount Group is one of 100 grant winners across the country – and the only winner in Ohio.

The Fairmount Group is also currently in negotiations with several other potential clients as a result of the recent trip to Finland.  The firm is also planning to host a seminar in Helsinki this fall for potential clients who are interesting in learning about building their international business through social media.
